Moving Out of Dubai? What to Do with Your Furniture
Updated 29 October 2026 · 7 min read
Leaving the UAE or moving to a smaller place usually means deciding what happens to every sofa, bed and wardrobe – fast. Here's a simple plan to clear your home before handover.
- Any condition accepted
- We dismantle & carry
- Same-day pickup possible
- Open 7 days, 8 AM–9 PM
Any condition accepted. Pickup is free for reusable furniture. For damaged or broken items, a transport charge applies – we always confirm it with you before booking.
Step 1: Sort everything into four groups
Walk through your home room by room and put every large item into one of four groups:
- Ship: pieces with real value or sentimental meaning. International shipping is priced by volume, so be selective.
- Sell: newer, branded or high-value items worth the time it takes to sell them.
- Donate: usable furniture that isn't worth shipping or selling – usually most of it.
- Dispose: broken items nobody can reuse.
Step 2: Work backwards from your handover date
4 weeks before
- Get shipping quotes and decide what goes with you
- List the items you want to sell
- Check your tenancy contract and building rules for move-out requirements
2 weeks before
- Lower prices on items that haven't sold
- Book your furniture donation pickup – month-end slots fill up quickly
1 week before
- Confirm any service-lift booking or move-out permit your building needs
- Empty drawers, wardrobes and cabinets
Collection day
- The donation crew dismantles, carries and loads your furniture
- Do a final walk-through and photograph the empty rooms for your handover
Why donating usually wins when you're leaving
Selling furniture in Dubai can take weeks of messages and viewings – time you don't have when you're packing. Shipping often costs more than the furniture is worth. Donating clears your home in a single visit, and your furniture helps people in need instead of ending up in landfill.
What a moving-out donation pickup covers
- Living room – sofas, coffee tables, TV units
- Bedrooms – beds, mattresses, wardrobes, dressing tables
- Dining sets, kids' furniture and balcony furniture
Collection is free for reusable furniture; damaged items carry a transport charge, confirmed before booking. See our moving-out donation pickup page for details.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Leaving it to the last weekend – everyone moves at month-end.
- Forgetting building access rules – lift bookings can take days.
- Over-shipping – compare the shipping cost with the value of each piece.
